Porquerolle’s Classic regatta: Old rigs
Description
Large gathering of traditional boats. The regatta is included in the official calendar of the Association Française des Yachts de Tradition. It brings together some fifty boats, including some of the finest sailing yachts in the Mediterranean.
Porquerolle's classic is a major gathering of traditional boats in Porquerolles. The regatta is included in the official calendar of the AFYT, Association Française de Yacht de Tradition, and is sponsored by the Yacht Club de France.
The number of requests for participation from traditional yachts increases every year.
It consists of constructed and coastal courses in the harbor and around the islands of Hyères. On the final day, the Moonbeam Trophy commemorates the origins of Porquerolle's Classic. It was created in 2003 to celebrate the centenary of Moonbeam of Fife, the famous auric yawl built in the Scottish shipyard of Fairlie.
The show at sea is grandiose.
