Isabelle Becker decided not to decide, not to decide at first sight what she would draw or paint.

It is not a cowardice, not an ease, since she will work under constraint - the constraint of the stains with which she covers her papers, ink or coffee stains, when she prepares them before really starting to work.
There begins a reading of the support, she wanders in the coloured meanders, in these uncertain spaces, and forms
shapes emerge, close to reality or totally fantastical, and her pencils, pens or brushes come to life. She starts to tell stories. She is able to say that she would not know how to draw this or that animal or character if she were simply asked to do so; but when a spot suggests a shape, then the drawing is natural and the line precise - who can believe her?"
