La Vague Classique: Aurélien Pascal and Selim Mazari
Description
A musical encounter at the summit, a fusion of two temperaments driven by the sole desire to elevate music to unsuspected heights, beyond their instrumental mastery, which is known to know no bounds.
Revelation instrumental soloist at the Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2023, Aurélien Pascal was revealed on the international scene after his success in the Emanuel Feuermann Competition at the Berlin Philharmonic. A soloist with the world's leading orchestras, he is also a sought-after chamber musician, performing with numerous musicians at the most prestigious festivals. An emblematic artist of the new generation of French soloists, nominated for the "Révélations" award, pianist Sélim Mazari made a remarkable debut with orchestra at the Philharmonie de Paris, as well as in recital at the Berlin Konzerthaus, in Vienna and elsewhere. A recommendation from Martha Argerich earned him an invitation from Daniel Barenboim in November 2020 to take part in his Masterclasses on Beethoven's Sonatas, recorded at Berlin's Boulez Saal. Building on the success of his first album of Beethoven Variations (Mirare), he is currently preparing his next solo disc.
